Hello!
We are writing in the hope that you or your company may be interested in assisting children who are taking part in this summer's Irie Eco children program.
This is our third year of giving children the opportunity to discover the beauty of our country with its natural splendors in an active and challenging way. Our International Summer Program for children aged 2 to 12 is located at the Alliance Française and runs from July 13th to August 14th 2009 this year. It is supported by enthusiastic and qualified staff from overseas.
‘irie eco’ is a Dominican association promoting an appreciation and love of our beautiful island. We provide an opportunity for primary school children to broaden their education in a way that enhances and complements their school curriculum. Our summer activities include but are not limited to:- learning to swim, hiking, socializing with children from other cultures, practicing foreign languages, arts and crafts, drama, identifying plants and animals in the Rainforest and learning to have a genuine respect for nature. (See brochure attached)
Incorporated into the program, there are 3 different outings every week, and we serve 2 fruit snacks and a healthy vegetarian lunch to about 50 children and 10 adults daily. Since we try to keep the fees for the children as low as possible, we are looking for contributions and sponsors. In this respect, would you or your company consider funding a day’s outing? (An average outing costs approximately EC$450.00 in transportation and about EC$250.00 in meals and snacks).
Alternatively, would you consider sponsoring a child/ren whose parents cannot afford the fees?
Maybe your staff would appreciate you offering this as a benefit this summer too. Maybe it could be considered as part of an incentive program? The price of the 5 weeks program is EC$425 or EC$120 per week.
Finally, we are seeing sponsorship to contribute towards advertising, printing and office expenses, etc. This totals approximately EC$ 2 500.
Any help you can provide to assist us in continuing to run and promote our successful summer program would be greatly appreciated. In return we can offer to promote you or your company's name in our marketing materials and brochures. We will also detail you on our online site.

WELCOME TO DOMINICA….
Waterfalls, lakes, rivers, rainforest, mountains…
Situated in the center of the Caribbean, volcanic in origin, Dominica is certainly the most natural and unique Caribbean Island. Dominated by tall green mountains, covered by dense tropical forest, tangled by almost 365 rivers, Dominica offers the opportunity to experience one of the last spots on earth where nature is authentic.
irie eco gives children the chance to discover natural splendors in an active and challenging way.
We offer 3 different outings every week to a wide variety of children-friendly natural locations: rivers, basins, cascades, waterfalls, rainforest, hot pools and beaches.
Our adventures include games, sports, hikes, bird and whale watching, camping, music, crafts, nature arts and the study of the plants and wildlife of the Caribbean.
irie eco promotes a healthy lifestyle.
In collaboration with a nutritionist, we prepare a vegetarian lunch daily using fresh local naturally grown produce.
We encourage children to drink fresh water instead of sweet sodas and juices.
We serve two daily snacks consisting of local island fruits such as mangoes,
oranges, bananas, watermelon, pineapples, guavas, passion fruits, plantains,…
Over the years, we have seen tremendous benefits of these stimulating supervised
activities for all children especially those with weight or asthmatic challenges.

irie eco’s goal is to encourage a deep love of our environment.
Therefore we are offering a program with a focus on eco-education.
Our staff is composed of enthusiastic, creative and experienced professionals.
A first aid person will be on site at all time.
We speak English, French and German.
By offering these activities to local and visiting children alike, both will benefit from cultural and linguistic interaction and gain an insight of different lifestyles while experiencing the Nature Isle.
Our program provides an ideal and caring environment for every child to blossom
and start the next school year positively.
Most of all, we want the children to enjoy their summer holidays to the fullest…!
Hours:
Mondays - Thursdays: 8 am to 4 pm
Fridays: 8 am to 1 pm
Price per child:
US$ 120.00 per week or
US$ 40.00per day or

Local price for local children.
